Scheme Background
The remote monitoring system for wind power generation needs to collect relevant data of all wind turbines and conduct real – time monitoring. Therefore, it is necessary to interconnect all the wind turbines in the wind farm by forming a redundant ring network. According to the geographical locations of each wind turbine tower, the industrial Ethernet switches of the tower are formed into a ring network to realize data collection, analysis, and control of the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system and control system of the remote monitoring system for wind power generation. At the same time, alarm information is provided for operators and maintenance personnel.
System Requirements

In a wind power generation field, wind turbines are distributed across the vast power generation area. The top nacelle of each generator unit is equipped with a turbogenerator. At the front end are adjustable – angle wind blades. The system can adjust the tilt angle of the wind blades according to different wind conditions. Generally, the rotation speed of the wind blades is 10 – 15 revolutions per minute. Through a gearbox, the rotation speed of the wind blades can be increased to 1500 revolutions per minute to drive the generator. An industrial PC and a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) are also installed in the nacelle for control and relevant data collection. The PLC collects relevant data and uses the collected data to conduct real – time control of the generator.

Levin Link provides safe and stable industrial Ethernet switches. Building a ring network communication network can effectively achieve real – time data transmission and control of the monitoring system in a wind power plant, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the wind power plant monitoring system. At the same time, it also offers a user – friendly network management system.
In terms of communication equipment, Levin Link’s industrial Ethernet switches adopt a four – level industrial modular design, which can be precisely configured according to actual applications and user requirements. The ERPS – Ring (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching – Ring) technology with a ring network recovery time of less than 20ms is used. The networking methods are very flexible, and it can form networks such as star – shaped and ring – shaped networks to meet the needs of the complex geographical environment at the wind power generation site. Levin Link’s Ethernet switches have passed tests and certifications by domestic and world – renowned authoritative institutions. For example, they have passed the tests of the China Electric Power Research Institute and the State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, as well as global certifications such as CE, FCC, and UL. The operating temperature range is from – 40°C to + 85°C, the protection level reaches IP40, and the port configuration can be flexibly adjusted according to actual needs.
